Zendaya Says ‘Boyfriend’ Tom Holland Is the First Person She Texted After Her Emmy Win

Tom Holland may not have been physically with his girlfriend Zendaya on her history-making Emmy night, but he was the first person she texted about it, the actress revealed to E! during a post-win interview. The comment shed a little light into their private dynamic.
Zendaya was asked by the outlet who the first person she reached out to was after she became the youngest person ever to win two Emmys at age 26 and the first-ever Black woman to win outstanding lead actress in a drama series twice. Zendaya won the Emmy two times for her work as Rue in Euphoria.
“When I get this win, well, I didn’t have to text my mom because my mom was already there,” Zendaya started. “She’s here tonight, which is very special. And I text my boyfriend.”
The Emmys took place in Los Angeles. Holland was last photographed on September 10, filming his upcoming Apple+ series The Crowded Room in New York City.
He and Zendaya have been more open about the fact they're dating but have kept intimate details to themselves. Zendaya has been shooting Dune 2 abroad, and Holland was last seen visiting her in Budapest in August, stealing a little time away from his New York-based series to fly and be with her.
Zendaya spoke last year to GQ about how she didn't quite understand the public's interest in their romance. The public's fascination “was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive,” she said. “The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own… I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”
