Season 2 of Euphoria premiered last night on HBO.

The opening scene alone was ~intense~...to say the least. And it seems like this season is only going to get darker and more emotional.

In light of that, Zendaya took to Instagram yesterday to remind Euphoria fans of an important message:

“I know I’ve said this before, but I do want to reiterate to everyone that Euphoria is for mature audiences,” she wrote. “This season, maybe even more so than the last, is deeply emotional and deals with subject matter that can be triggering and difficult to watch. Please only watch it if you feel comfortable.”

“Take care of yourself,” she continued. “And know that either way you are still loved and I can still feel your support. All my love, Daya.”

And boy, is she right.

In the Season 2 premiere alone, we saw a man get shot in his legs while receiving a blowjob; a woman inject herself with heroin; Rue almost die from a drug overdose; Fez, Rue and Ashtray get shaken up at a high-stakes drug deal; and an overwhelming amount of naked peens.

PLUS, Fez tossed Nate around like a sack of potatoes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the show, but watching Euphoria does sometimes feel like choosing to enter a dark mindset that I don't always want to be in.

And because Zendaya has so many younger fans, I applaud her for sending out a gentle reminder, like "hey, not everyone has to like this show."
