Zendaya's new role as Lola Bunny in the upcoming film Space Jam: A New Legacy surprised fans when it was originally announced, and now it's causing even more of a splash thanks to a new promo video.

While we were able to hear Zendaya for a bit in the film's trailer, viewers got to listen to more of the Emmy-winning actress as Lola thanks to a brand new promo video.

ESPN's 30 for 30 released a new episode all about what will happen in the Space Jam sequel and Zendaya quickly become a trending topic on Twitter over to her voice acting.

Some fans were taken aback by the new voice, while other fans quickly came in defence of the actress on social media.

"Did y’all expect Zendaya not to sound like Zendaya I’m confused," wrote on Twitter user.

Another user posted a fan cam of the actress noting, "we will be watching for her."

Someone else reposted an old tweet that Zendaya posted with the quote, "maybe it gotta grow on y'all idk" and replied with, "Zendaya said it best."

It's still a little too early to see how Zendaya does in the film, especially since it's not out yet. Luckily, the wait is almost over as we get closer to Space Jam: A New Legacy's release date of July 16, 2021. Fans will be able to check out the movie both in theaters and at home thanks to HBO Max's Same Day Premiers.

Until then, we'll just have to take all of this with a grain of salt before we see how the movie is actually like!
