Zazie Beetz Shows Off an Inspired Take on Holiday Hair

Whether it’s an all-natural updo, referential hair wraps, a foiled lid, or a noir lip, Zazie Beetz favors looks that command attention—idiosyncratic takes on the trends of the moment as well as eras past. As such, her aspirational hairstyling, cultivated for yesterday’s Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program Luncheon, was at once appreciated and easily foreseen.

Beetz—with an assist from hairstylist Lacy Redway—wore her box braids bound atop her head, the textured bun bedecked in pearls of various sizes. The baubles seemed to be an extension of her outfit, playing off the white detailing in the actress’s knit sweater and tweedy trousers. And in keeping with the world’s current appreciation of sparkle, Beetz embraced more than one shimmering addition, with silver glitter brushed over nails and edged along lash lines by makeup artist Tyron Machhausen to playful effect. A swipe of lip gloss finished the moment. The takeaway? As if anyone needed more evidence, this is officially the season of whimsical adornment.
