Zayn Covered Beloved Bollywood Song "Allah Duhai Hai"

“For the fans.”

We already know Zayn Malik is a master of the slow burn, R&B-infused pop song. But it turns out his talents also extend into covers — on Monday, Nov. 19, Zayn Malik shared a video of himself singing the song "Allah Duhai Hai," from Bollywood's action thriller franchise Race.

“For the fans,” the "Pillowtalk" singer wrote when sharing the almost four-minute clip on his Twitter. With a double black and white portrait of the singer and colorful animations, Zayn gifted his over 27 million followers with a full-on up-tempo rendition of the Race 3 Hindi song, with his own twist, which fans duly appreciated.

“THANK YOU for always blessing our lives with your voice. This cover is amazing and we appreciate this so much! You’re amazing and we are really proud of you. Never stop singing, your voice is so powerful. thanks for being who you are!” one fan account wrote.

“I just loved this.....f*cking proud....it's million times better than the original....keep blessing us with such masterpieces....” another fan added.

In just 10 hours, the clip had amassed over 800K views on YouTube and over 700K on Twitter, and some fans are already putting in requests for Zayn’s next cover. “Can u please give us the cover of song tum hi ho. Please. Please. Please. please. Please. For ur indian fans,” one user wrote; another one adding, “I cant wait for him to sing with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.. omgg.. their vocals will melt any heart.”

This isn't the first time the singer has paid homage to the genre with his covers. Incidentally, earlier this year, Zayn professed his love for Bollywood in an interview with Elle India. “Before I can even remember… [Bollywood films were] on the TV. Bollywood is so impeccable,” he told the magazine back in February. In the same interview, the singer also revealed he’d recorded a song in Hindi for a Bollywood movie.

Per The Express Tribune, Zayn also confessed his new work is highly influenced by Indian culture. “There’s definitely a lot of Urdu; some nice qawwali sounds. There might even be some bhangra vibes. I have also worked with AR Rahman on one song,” he reportedly said.

Although the release date for his forthcoming album is yet to be revealed, while we wait for his new music (or Bollywood movie track), we'll have a little taster for the ride in the form of "Allah Duhai Hai" (as well as the brand-new "No Candle No Light" feat. Nicki Minaj, of course).
