Each year, Princess Anne hosts the Festival of British Eventing at her home at Gatcombe Park. It's usually a family affair for the Princess Royal, and this year was no different: both her children Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips brought along their kids for a weekend of carnival games and horse racing. They also help to put on the event: Peter is the Director, Princess Anne's ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips designed the course, and Zara competed in the competition.
"I don't remember a summer without the horse trials growing up. I think we've pretty much done every job on the job list under the sun for the festival. It's always been a major part of our lives," Peter told ITV ahead of the weekend. He added, "We are hugely fortunate to be able to grow up in a place like this... the festival weekend is one of the opportunities to be able to share this beautiful place with lots of people who are coming to watch a fantastic sport."
Zara concurred, telling the news outlet, "It was a great place to grow up around horses, looking after animals - the respect and partnership that you have to build with the animals, it teaches you so much you know growing up and as a kid. It really is an amazing life starting to be outside as well you know all the time."
Unfortunately, the third day of this year's festival was canceled due to adverse weather that made the competition unsafe for participants and spectators. But the first two days seemed to be a grand time for the royal family. Here, the best photos of Princess Anne, her children, and grandchildren at the 2023 Festival of British Eventing:

Lucas jumped on a trampoline.
After, he took off his rain suit—and was wearing a New York sweatshirt underneath.
It was a rare public outing for the youngster, who was likely deemed too young to join in on the coronation festivities this past May.
