Former child actor Zachery Ty Bryan's lawyer is coming to his defense after his second arrest on charges of domestic violence.

Bryan was released from jail yesterday morning, Aug. 3, six days after he was booked on two felony charges of fourth-degree assault and third-degree robbery, in addition to a misdemeanor charge for harassment.

His attorney, John Kolego, confirmed his release to The Hollywood Reporter, adding, “Presumption of innocence is extremely important and people should withhold judgment until they see what the actual facts are.”

The Home Improvement star was arrested in Oregon late last month after police were called to a private residence for a physical dispute between a man and a woman.

Bryan was no longer on scene by the time law enforcement arrived, but they tracked him down and booked him.

He was arrested on similar charges in 2020 after assaulting his then-girlfriend, now-fiancée Johnnie Faye Cartwright. He ultimately pled guilty to two misdemeanors in that case: menacing and fourth-degree assault. He was also required to attend a violence intervention program, according to the publication.

It's not clear if Cartwright was the victim in this case, too, but she has spoken out following his most recent arrest, telling Us Weekly, “I’ll always want what’s best for the father of my children. Trauma can bring struggles in many shapes and forms. It’s a horrible situation that’s going to be spun in so many ways. I’ve learned firsthand the truth will never align with what’s been put out there. I ask everyone to please be respectful of our privacy for the sake of the children and our families so the healing process can begin.”
