Zach Roloff Didn't Congratulate Amy on Her Engagement After She Shocked Him on Camera
In the latest episode of Little People, Big World, Amy Roloff told her son Zach about her engagement.
Zach was shocked by the news and revealed that he'd previously asked his parents to tell him about any relationship news off camera.
Amy dated Chris Marek for three years before the pair got engaged in September 2019.
This week, Little People, Big World viewers were ecstatic to watch Amy Roloff spread her and Chris Marek's engagement news.
While the proposal was super sweet, Amy received mixed reactions when telling her family. Amy's son Zach Roloff was particularly shocked when she stopped by his and Tori Roloff’s home to show off her heart-shaped diamond ring.
"I'm engaged," Amy said. "Chris proposed to me yesterday for our third-year anniversary." After seeing her son and daughter-in-law's stunned reaction, Amy said, "Well, you guys are shocked."
And the awkward silence that followed was almost unbearable. While Amy tried to understand what her 29-year-old son was thinking, she admitted that she was both surprised and not surprised at the same time. On the one hand, she knew it was “literally a shock." Yet at the same time, she “thought he would at least say congratulations.”
Although Zach had no words for the Roloff matriarch, he later revealed that he had actually spoken to Amy and his dad, Matt Roloff, years before. His one request was that any relationship news be shared off camera and in private.
"I told my mom and dad, ‘Hey, [this is one thing] I don't want to talk about on camera, my one out of bounds is your guys' relationship and if that relationship goes anywhere else beyond where it is now,” he said. “I don't want to be surprised by any news of those relationships on camera. And then she went on camera and surprised me with that news.”

He continued: "We've been doing this [show] for 15 years, and I've showed some of the most difficult and awkward moments of my life. There's just been one thing that entire time that I've asked my parents to do with me in private and my mom couldn't remember. It's like, no, I'm not putting up with that."
After watching Zach’s reaction to Amy’s engagement, fans took to the YouTube comment section with differing opinions.
“Definitely should’ve told him off camera, this is a private thing,” one person wrote. “I agree not everything has to be public ... first fam then audience,” another added. “I felt sorry for Amy. This [was] her moment,” a different fan said. “Jeez she’s been dating the guy 3 years....why is it so shocking?” a viewer wrote.
