Zac Efron Is Starring in a Three Men and a Baby Remake

Zac Efron in Three Men and a Baby? Who asked for that—and how can I thank them?

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a movie or TV show in possession of decent ratings must be in want of a reboot. That is, according to Hollywood. Sister, Sister, Saved by the Bell, and The Baby-Sitters Club are just some of the popular properties that have—or are in the processing of getting—a remake in 2020. Add another to that list: a Three Men and a Baby reboot, which is slated to star High School Musical king Zac Efron.

Yes, soon enough you can enjoy watching the Baywatch (the 2017 reboot) star get in touch with his paternal side, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The original 1987 comedy starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson as three bachelors and roommates who one day find a baby was left on their doorstep. High jinks, obviously, ensue.

Details are slim about this new adaptation, but you know we'll be updating you whenever new information comes up. For now, here's everything we know.

Who’s starring in it?

We told you about Zac Efron, and…that's the only cast member who has been announced. No word yet on whether or not Selleck, Guttenberg, or Danson will make an appearance–but they have to, right? Right

Who else is on board?

THR reports that Gordon Gray, who's last film was Ben Affleck's basketball film The Way Back, will be producing. Will Reichel, who wrote the 2018 film Hot Air, did the script. As for a director, THR says that a search is “underway.”

Where and when can I watch this Three Men and a Baby remake?

The movie will air on Disney+, though a release date has not been set. It will likely be some time before more details emerge on this front, as filming has yet to begin.

What will the story entail?

Again, details are low here. THR reports that it's “unclear” how the story will be updated for this new version. We'll keep you posted.
