Zac Efron, Matthew Perry

Zac Efron is taking a moment to remember the impact Matthew Perry made on his life and career.

The High School Musical alum was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, appearing during the celebratory ceremony on Monday, Dec. 11, on the famed Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, Calif.

After delivering a speech where he spoke on the "surreal" moment of being a part of the "true Hollywood tradition," and how long he's come over the past several years, he thanked colleagues and lifelong fans who've been with him "since day one."

Efron also acknowledged the late Friends star, whom he starred alongside while portraying a younger version of Perry's character in the 2009 film, 17 Again.

Perry passed away on Oct. 28, after being found unresponsive in his hot tub. He was 54 years old.

"I really also want to mention someone who's not here today, and that's Matthew Perry, who was so kind and generous to me while we worked on 17 Again," he said. "Collaborating with him and Burr Steers was so much fun, and really did propel me and motivate me in so many ways. It really pushed me into the next chapter into my career. And for that, thank you so much Matthew. I'm thinking about you a lot today."

Elsewhere during the ceremony, he was also honored with speeches by pals, War Dogs actor Miles Teller, who described him as "the man, the myth, the legend that is Zac Efron, baby," and The Bear star, Jeremy Allen White.

Teller dubbed him the "first true superstar" of the Millennial generation, adding that he's "truly deserving" of this honor, while White explained his "prolific" career work, admiring that he's "devastatingly handsome, kind, and endlessly hardworking."

For the occasion, the 36-year-old looked suave in a navy blue suit worn over a dark grey tee, and donned a clean cut, shaven look.

In addition to the Disney Channel film series, Efron is also known for a slew of other movies, including The Lucky One, Neighbors, Gold, Hairspray, Dirty Grandpa, That Awkward Moment, and several more.
