Zac and Vanessa split due to distance because Zac is filming a movie 1,000 miles away from where Vanessa lives.
To anyone rooting for Zac Efron and Vanessa Valladares' Cinderella-like romance—he literally met her while she was waitressing in an Australian cafe—I am incredibly sorry to inform you that their relationship is no longer available to obsess over. That's right friends, like many other now-extinct couples of 2020, Zac and yet another Vanessa have chosen to end their relationship. *sigh*
The Sun had a bunch of intel on why Zac and Vanessa decided to call their relationship quits, and it seems like distance was the main factor. Zac is currently filming his upcoming movie, Gold, where shooting is taking place in Adelaide, Australia...aka over 1,000 miles and a two and a half hour flight from where he and Vanessa were shacked up in Byron Bay.
"Zac and Vanessa looked like the real deal. They were besotted with each other. Once he decided to stay in Australia long term, he suggested they buy their first home," the source said. "They'd started to look at a few places but, sadly, fate wasn't on their side. Zac's work and the enforced distance has really taken its toll."
Though Zac and Vanessa's friends want them to get back together, it kinda seemed like their relationship was never meant to be long term. "Friends hope they can reunite, but it seems their relationship was more like a holiday romance than they cared to admit," the source added.
