Is it possible that there could someday be a Zac Brown Band-Kelce brothers collaboration?

It’s clearly an idea that interests Travis Kelce and his older brother Jason, according to the NFL players’ most recent episode of their New Heights podcast.

Travis, 34, and Jason, 36, have both fielded questions in the last few weeks about their eventual NFL retirement decisions. Though the NFL reported that Jason announced his retirement after a season-ending game earlier this week, the Philadelphia Eagles center has since said that he didn’t make an announcement about his future “on purpose” and believes there was “too much emotion in the moment” for him to “fully grasp that decision.”

Meanwhile, curiosity about Travis’ post-NFL plans are largely fueled by the surge in attention he’s received since he and pop star Taylor Swift made their relationship public. During a Jan. 11 press conference, Travis told reporters he has "no desire to stop anytime soon” but hinted that he might consider working in entertainment once he’s done with football.

But the Zac Brown Band has suggested there’s another creative path the brothers could explore. In a Jan. 10 video posted on Instagram, the Zac Brown-led country band shared a clip from one of the brothers’ recent podcast episodes. Travis identifies himself in the clip as “a big Zac Brown Band fan” before the brothers begin singing the lyrics to “Toes,” a song from the band’s 2008 album The Foundation.

“Soundin’ good, brothers,” the band wrote on Instagram. “Who wants to hear these Kelce boys sing harmony on the next record?”

On the latest New Heights episode released on Wednesday, the brothers reacted to the band’s suggestion. While Travis reiterated that the Zac Brown Band is “one of our favorites,” he and Jason were quick to say they don’t have much experience with harmonizing.

“Little do they know that we don’t know how to harmonize,” Jason said. “We’ve already tried this multiple times on the show.”

Travis jokingly added that they’ve been “trying to do this with the State Farm people” for years.

Even so, Jason wondered if there might be some kind of collaboration they could do with the band.

“Maybe we can get on this,” Jason said, "because that would be a complete honor to do anything with those guys.”
