Yuto Horigame Takes Home Gold In Both 'Street' and 'Street Best Trick' At X Games (Video)

It was a jam-packed weekend in Ventura, California, as the world's best skaters battled it out at X Games. From the biggest household names to aspiring up-and-comers, there was no shortage of ripping on (and off) the course.

Always a crowd favorite, it was Yuto Horigame who took home gold in both Street and Street Best Trick—hard to argue—making him the first skate since 2002 to win gold in both events at the same X Games.

Yuto is built different. He skates the course in his own unique way, pulling tricks out of his bag that most of us watching (other competitors included) can hardly even comprehend.

The sugarcane on the bump-to-sign comes out of nowhere. Even the way he pieces together his lines make everything he's doing that much more difficult, but again, the dude is just built different. It's sort of like he's out there skating against himself...

It's also extremely refreshing to see skater's freshening up their runs from time to time. In a world where repeated runs are typically the norm, Yuto is out there taking the risks and simply proving that his skill on the board is unmatched right now.

In the Street comp, Kelvin Hoefler took home silver, and Ryan Decenzo took bronze and you can't deny they were biting at each others heels. Shoutout to them both! They're always on fire. And it was Braden Hoban taking home silver in the Street Best Trick and Nyjah securing bronze.

Congrats to Yuto for yet again making history and continuing to solidify himself as one of the greatest to ever do it.
