Yuta of NCT 127 Has a Navel Piercing and Fans Are Losing It
Following the release of their new album, Neo Zone, K-pop group NCT 127 has been on fire this past week. But today, fans aren't just freaking out about the group's new music — they also can't get enough of Yuta's new navel piercing.
Over the weekend, NCTzens lost their minds on Twitter over the sight of Yuta's newly pierced navel, and who can blame them?
Fans first spotted the piercing on while the boys performed their new single, “Kick It,” live on March 8 on SBS’s Inkigayo — and it didn’t take long for them to connect the dots. “So this is why everyone reacted the way they did when yuta’s belly button piercing got poked,” one fan noted on Twitter, sharing a video from the group’s recent VLIVE comeback special.
Navel piercings, also known as belly button piercings, though rarer nowadays, were a huge trend among female pop stars in the 2000s — from Brittney Spears to Christian Aguilera. Yuta seems to be bringing that trend back now almost two decades later while showing that men, too, can rock the pierced navel look — and, well, his looks like straight fire.
Additionally, Yuta also put a slit in his eyebrow last week, which is serving major TikTok e-boy vibes. Clearly, all of these changes — from the piercing to the eyebrow to the album, of course! — threw fans for a very pleasant loop.
"SO YUTA HAS AN EYEBROW SLIT AND A BELLY BUTTON PIERCING??? HE WANTS US DEAD I REPEAT HE WANTS US DEAD," tweeted one stan in all capitals.
And, unsurprisingly, many other fans agreed. "ok, that's it. i've had enough. someone tell him that's ilLEGAL," tweeted one fan while another said, "yuta debuting his [navel] piercing on international women's day is direct feminist action." A third one chimed in saying, "an instagram, an eyebrow slit, a bellybutton piercing. In ONE (1) week. Yuta is standing on the other girls NECKS. Yutazens love to see it!"
All, well, they are not wrong. Now, if you need me, I’ll BRB — taking the rest of the day off work to get my navel pierced, too.
