You've Got to Stay in These Train Caboose Vacation Rentals in Clyde, North Carolina

Imagine your perfect vacation in the Smokies. Now, imagine that perfect vacation in a train caboose surrounded by roaming American buffalo (also known as bison!). Sold? Us too.

At Buffalo Creek Vacations in Clyde, North Carolina, guests can revel in their own slice of locomotive paradise on a 72-acre buffalo ranch in one of two fully furnished train cabooses in the heart of North Carolina's Smoky Mountains.

Both cabooses start at $135 per night with a $30 cleaning fee, pre-taxes. Each train can accommodate up to five guests and if you'd also like to bring pets along, you can do so for an additional fee. In addition to the cabooses, there are also six log cabins available for rent.

Buffalo feedings are each morning and evening, and the property has a lifted platform so you can view the feedings or see the buffalo throughout the day. The ranch is also home to llamas, rabbits, goats, and chickens. Decor wise in the cabooses and cabins, expect unique furnishings, like beds suspended by steel cords from the ceiling and inviting fireplaces.

Personally, we love the idea of lazing around in our caboose and around the farm all day, but with the sweet town of Maggie Valley and funky crossroads of Waynesville both twelve miles away, there's no shortage of great nearby activities. If you feel like driving a bit farther, Asheville is 25 miles away, and, yes, Biltmore Estate's Christmas Decorations Are Here.
