Tell Us About A Time You Broke Things Off With Your Doctor

As humans, we nurture and maintain a lot of relationships in our lives, with one of the most important ones being the relationships we hold with our doctors.

It is, in many ways, a relationship that could literally mean the difference between life and death, so it's not one to be taken lightly.

Oftentimes, things may go south in this relationship for a multitude of reasons, and you decide that it's time to part ways and find a different doctor who will actually treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

So I want to know, if you've ever had to break up with your doctor, what prompted you to do it?

Perhaps you went in to see your primary care physician for a strange chest pain you'd been experiencing for weeks, and they kept writing it off as anxiety and not bothering to do any of the tests you asked of them. And once you broke things off and found a new doctor who would order the proper tests, you then found out you had a serious medical issue that should have been caught months ago.

Maybe you were sick of your fatphobic doctor fixating on your weight every time you went in for a non-related issue, and you felt like they spent more time shaming you than actually listening to you.

Perhaps you would often wait months just to be seen by your specialist, only to get three minutes with them in the exam room every time.

Or maybe you had a doctor who would give you prescriptions with serious side effects or order unnecessary tests without properly explaining why they were making those decisions to begin with.
