YouTuber's Interaction with Blind Pit Bull Who Lost His Mom Is So Touching

This poor boy finally let his guard down.

The life of a shelter dog can be full of unknowns as it is, but that can become extra challenging when a pup is already dealing with trauma. YouTuber and dog rescue advocate Rocky Kanaka got to witness this firsthand when he met Buddha, an affectionate 2-year-old Pit Bull who recently ended up in the shelter after his loving mama passed away.

As heartbreaking as this dog's story already is, we were blown away when we learned about the extra obstacle he navigates every day: he's blind! It takes a lot of work for Buddha to take in his new, temporary home, but his reaction to spending a few minutes with Rocky had us with tears in our eyes!

What a sweet, sweet dog! Buddha is going to make the perfect pup for a loving owner or family, and this video is all the proof we need. It only took a few minutes--and a few treats--to help him relax more than he had in months.

"He is DEFINITELY a really awesome dog!" agreed commenter @heatherylane. What gave it away? Was it his excellent obedience or his gentle cuddles? This precious boy actually seemed so calm that we were shocked to hear that he's only 2 years old. Then again, he's probably not feeling overly playful in a scary, unfamiliar place.

Luckily, Rocky Kanaka spent some special time with Buddha before telling viewers exactly how to visit him. This pup is staying at Animal Friends of the Valleys, a shelter in Wildomar, California, where anyone can drop in to say hello. The shelter isn't currently taking calls or emails, so you'll have to make the trip in order to meet him!
