"You're Gonna Hurt Somebody"- New Yorker Confronts Electric Motorcyclist In Bike Lane

On heavily trafficked bike paths, fast vehicles are incredibly dangerous. Riding a normal bike at a different speed than walkers can cause issues..

Electric Dirt Bikes add gasoline to any conflict. Watch as one New York cyclist confronts Surron rider YoungNhanny for riding in the bike lane.

The video is titled “Captain Karen of the bike lane doesn't like e-bikes.” There are multiple things wrong with that statement.

For one, this man is not a Karen by any stretch. He politely points to a sign put up by the city, and lets the rider know he should not be there. He does nothing that could be in any way construed as a freakout.

The other issue with the title is that a Surron is not an e-bike. E-bikes as recognized by law fall into one of three categories, Class 1, 2, and 3. All of these classes have pedals and all three have their speed governed to 20 or 28 miles per hour.

A Surron is an ungoverned motorcycle that can go far faster than 28 mph and is not pedal-operated. For more information about e-bikes and their categories, read this helpful guide.

Though he clearly struggles to grasp the law, YoungNhanny was at least smart enough to turn off comments for this video. In most other Surron confrontations, the comments do not take kidney to law-breaking motorcyclists. Read some of these comments from another interaction below.
