Dear Bobbi,

I love makeup but I am having trouble finding the right foundation for my oily skin. I live in Kentucky where it gets hot and humid which adds to the problem. Blotting the shine off removes my makeup. Any advice would be most helpful.

Thank you,
Danielle

Dear Danielle,

Skip moisturizer during the day and only wear it at night. Make sure you choose liquid foundation in a longwear formula; mineral, oil-free, or powder foundation would be best. Longwear eye shadows, mascara, and powder blushes will also stay on longer, even in the heat.

Dear Bobbi,

I’m 53 and I’m getting wrinkles and lines around my eyes and forehead and I want to find the right foundation and products for my skin. What are the best products?

Thank You,
Diane

Dear Diane,

Choose products that smooth and even, as well as hydrate and plump your skin. Serums, rich liquids, or powderless formulas are best.

Dear Bobbi,

I just had a baby, and my face is full of dark spots. I am in a treatment with a dermatologist. Meanwhile, what is the best way to cover them?

Thanks,
Veronica

Dear Veronica,

You want to lighten the dark spots with a concealer or a touch-up stick that will lighten the spot so that it is the same color as the rest of your skin. The key is to apply a lighter color first, to counteract the darkness, but make sure it doesn’t look ashy. Then layer your foundation on top (sometimes extra concealer or touch up stick will also work). Set both with a light dusting of yellow-toned powder.
