Young Woman Battling Heroin & Meth Returns

Young Woman Battling Heroin & Meth Returns

Earlier this season we met Darcy, who had already lost one of her daughters to drugs. The Doctors and a team of experts tried to help save her 20-year-old daughter Alyssa, who was using both heroin and meth.

Alyssa was slated to appear on the show, but just a day before she was admitted to the hospital to treat multiple infections. She was also in the midst of a severe drug withdrawal.

ER physician Dr. Travis Stork shares that Alyssa spent six weeks in the hospital and then went on to treatment at Breathe Life Healing Centers for 3 and half months. He is happy to share that she has been sober for 5 months.

During a sitdown with psychiatrist Dr. Eric Chaghouri, Alyssa shares painful stories from her past, where she says was physically abused and held against her will. She says she turned to drugs to deal with the pain.

To help Alyssa on her continued recovery, Ross Remien, the owner and CEO of Rebos Treatment Center, offers her 90 days of sober living and a team that consists of a psychotherapist, a chemical dependency counselor, a family therapist, a case manager and a spiritual counselor.

"I want to get it right this time," she says of continuing treatment.
