Sharon Farrell has died. She was 82 years old.

The soap opera star's death was announced in a Facebook post made by her sister Dale Candace Forsmoe.

"My sister, Sharon Farrell,.,Sharon Lee Forsmoe, passed away at LA Downtown Medical Center May 15, 2023," Forsmoe wrote in an Aug. 2 post. "I do not know the cause of death."

The news came a little over a week after Forsmoe shared that she had "reason to believe" her sister had died, noting that she had been in a care facility for some time.

"I have reason to believe my sister, Sharon Farrell, has died, not confirmed yet...no one contacted me," Forsmoe wrote in a July 31 Facebook post. "She was in a care facility and had been relocated a couple of times."

Forsmoe added that Farrell's adult son, Chance Boyer, "chose not to share [the news of her passing] with me."

Boyer later told The Hollywood Reporter that his mother died at a hospital in Orange County on May 15 "unexpectedly" and of "natural causes."
