A week after the death of Billy Miller, The Youth and the Restless paid tribute to its former star on the latest episode.

At the end of the most recent chapter of the soap opera, a message appeared which read, "In loving memory." Then, a montage was shown, featuring Miller's scenes from the long-running series.

The montage was then shared on social media with the caption, "To end today's episode we paid tribute to a greatly missed member of the Y&R family. Billy Miller will forever be in our hearts. ❤️"

Miller became a soap opera star through his role as Billy Abbott in the show, which he appeared on from 2008 until 2014. It earned him three Daytime Emmy awards. His success on the show led to his being cast as Drew Cain in General Hospital the year he left The Young and the Restless. He ultimately left the show in 2019.

The heartbreaking news of Miller's passing was announced on Sept. 17.

A family member confirmed his death in a Facebook post, writing, "Sad news is difficult to share, but yesterday I received a call that my cousin Billy Miller had passed. He was my second cousin and the son of my first cousin Pat who I love dearly. My heart aches for her, Billy’s sister Megan, and all who loved him. I’m posting this in Billy’s memory and because I know that some of you have been fans of his."

His mother, Patricia Miller, confirmed that the actor died by suicide in a statement shared with Soap Opera Digest. "He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. He loved his family, his friends and his fans but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life," she shared.
