Redding Munsell is taking over the role of Harrison Abbott, Kyle’s son, on The Young and the Restless. Kellan Enriquez previously played the role.

There’s A New Harrison in Town

Watch for Munsell to make his soap opera debut on Friday, April 12. The character of Harrison first appeared on May 14, 2021, as the son of Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and her estranged husband Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi; later, Robert Newman). It was revealed that Harrison’s true biological pop was Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) courtesy of the cosmetic company heir’s affair with the married woman.

Tara was ushered off the canvas following some illegal business dealings (that frankly paled in comparison to other hanky-panky deals people have pulled in Genoa City — Tara should come back and fight for her son, but we digress…). Subsequently, Kyle took custody of his son. The tyke has been making appearances at Abbott family gatherings, most recently in Claire’s (Hayley Erin) fantasy episode.

Munsell plays the role of Daniel at 5 years old in the upcoming Hurricanna, which takes a look at the final days of the late Anna Nicole Smith. Soap veteran A Martinez (ex-Cruz, Santa Barbara) plays the part of Principal Chief in that film. Munsell also appeared in the short film Red, White and Blue, which was nominated for the 2024 Oscars in the category of Best Live Action Short Film. The movie starred Brittany Snow (ex-Susan, Guiding Light).

According to Munsell’s bio on IMDB, he ranks in the 99th percentile in terms of academics, and “With a reading level that surpasses most of his peers, Redding absorbs knowledge like a sponge and boasts an unrivaled ability to memorize lines in the blink of an eye.”
