A Young Girl’s Neighbors Threw Her a Socially Distanced Parade After She Finished Chemotherapy

A group of neighbors threw a young girl a socially distanced welcome-home parade after she finished chemotherapy, and it's the sweetest thing you'll see all day.

We have John Krasinski to thank for surfacing this incredible moment. The actor put out a call on Twitter for "#SomeGoodNews" amid the coronavirus pandemic, and a mother named April Danz chimed in. "#SomeGoodNews my daughter, Coco, finished her final [chemotherapy] treatment yesterday and our friends had a surprise social distancing welcome home parade for her," she tweeted. In the clip you can see car after car lining the street, with Coco's neighbors cheering for her and holding up handmade signs as Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" plays in the background. Coco is visibly moved by the way her friends have shown up for her, and so are we.

Seriously, if you don't have tears streaming down your face right now, we don't know what to say. Krasinski replied, "Well, this is one of the greatest things I’ve seen. Welcome home, Coco!!" We second that sentiment, for sure, as did so many others.

"Bless you both and your wonderful circle of friends. This was worth using up a box of hoarded Kleenex!!" one person wrote. "Will pray for Coco's full recovery and a circle of protection around her as her immune system bounces back. Thank you for sharing this, I'm so happy for your family!"

As you all know, we're living through an extremely difficult time right now as the country self-isolates amid the coronavirus pandemic. Everyday celebrations, like birthday parties and other social gatherings, are on hold for the time being, but it's been so heartwarming to see how clever people are coming up with workarounds to mark life's moments. Big and small.

There's the mom who set up "Club Quarantine" for her son's 21st birthday, and the couple who repurposed their wedding favors in the most charming way:

It's moments like these that help the world feel a little bit less terrible in a very uncertain time. Way to go, Coco's neighbors—and more important, way to go, Coco. We hope you're feeling the love.
