You'll Want to Zoom in on Every Look From Loewe Fall 2024
Jonathan Anderson is a master at keeping the fashion crowd on their toes — you never truly know what to expect to come down the Loewe runway each season.
For Fall 2024, Anderson brings art to life. The collection was unveiled at the Chateau de Vincennes in Paris, with paintings by Albert York adorning the walls and informing the pieces on the runway, most noticeably the array of vegetable and floral prints seen on the matching sets and mini dresses with atypical silhouettes.
But it's what you at first don't see that catches the most attention — the garments that make you lean forward, squint your eyes and take a profound gasp that the details aren't quite what they seem. Take, for example, the fourth look: a structured black maxi coat with a wide grey metal-like collar, but upon a closer look, the collar is actually a painted wood carving. There are also billowing tapestry pants, metal lapels and trompe-l'œil plaid dresses.
In terms of accessories, there's a new version of the brand's Squeeze bag that really plays into the craftiness: From a distance, it looks as if it's embellished with a tapestry, but after a double-take, you'll notice the print is actually from hand-embroidered beading.
