You'll Love the Story Behind These 'Finding Nemo' Maternity Photos

Tayler Borre wants the world to know one thing about the child she's carrying: Though she may have been diagnosed with a rare condition before her birth, she's nothing short of perfect.

Borre decided to do something a bit different in her maternity photos: She and her partner posed with a tiny version of Nemo (yup—we're talking about the titular character from Finding Nemo!), but not just because of how cute the character isccording to a post from the mom-to-be, Nemo represents the amazing story behind her pregnancy.

You see, when Borre went in for her baby's anatomy scan, the doctors found something suprirising. When they suggested she see a fetal specialist, Borre was understandably terrified. That's when she learned something about her developing baby.

"At my all childrens appointment they diagnosed our baby girl with amniotic band syndrome, it's where the baby gets tangled in fibrous string-like amniotic bands in the womb, restricting blood flow and affecting the baby’s development or amputating the body part they wrap onto," Borre wrote in a now-viral Facebook post. "On that day we found out our sweet girl has no left hand."

It could not have been easy for Borre to hear that news, but she has an amazing attitude and knows exactly how she'll handle her baby's diagnosis: By teaching her little girl that a difference like this can't her hold back in any way.

"[I]t was so hard to hear that just thinking about how mean people can be towards people who are 'different' and of course not wanting anything to be wrong with your child," Borre wrote. "But i was also at peace with the news because everything else she measured perfect and she's nice and strong! She is our [Nemo—]she has a fin thats a little smaller than the other, but she will conquer anything her little heart desires to do! This is not a disability or a bad thing, she will be a little rockstar no matter what! She will do it all!"

Borre's baby is so lucky to have a mama who will celebrate the things that make her special. In Finding Nemo, the main character was born with one small fin thanks to damage done to his egg before birth, and that small fin became his trademark. And just like the fictional fish, this little girl will be beloved beyond measure.
