New York’s Ban On Nunchucks Is Ruled Unconstitutional

Rejoice, Bruce Lee fans. Those nunchucks you’ve been hiding in your parent’s basement? You can swing them out in the open again. In 1974, a state ban was placed on nunchucks in New York, “AP” reports. The logic behind the ban, according to “AP,” said it “was put into place over fears that youth inspired by martial arts movies would create widespread mayhem.” But, the Second Amendment prevailed, as a judge on Brooklyn federal court recently issued a ruling to remove the ban. It’s all thanks to a man named James Maloney, who was charged with possession of nunchucks back in 2000. After filing a complaint, the case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
