Yikes, Kylie Jenner Just Slashed the Price of Her Lip Kit Named After Jordyn Woods [Update]
UPDATE (3/31/2019): Fans might have thought that Kylie Jenner was throwing some serious shade in late February when they noticed that the price of the Kylie Cosmetics Jordy Velvet Liquid Lipstick Lip Kit had been slashed seemingly right after its namesake, Jordyn Woods, had been accused of hooking up with Khloé Kardashian's partner, Tristan Thompson. However, more than a month after the markdown set social media ablaze, Jenner has spoken out about the price cut.
In an interview with the The New York Times, Jenner says she not only did not mark down the Jordy Lip Kit down as a petty act of mini-revenge, she didn't even know it had been marked down. In fact, it had apparently been put on sale a couple weeks before the scandal broke — a detail some largely drowned-out Kylie Cosmetics fans pointed out — because the company had been changing up its packaging.
“That is just not my character," says Jenner, who told The New York Times that she was shocked when people were saying she did it to send a message to her in-limbo BFF. "I would never do something like that and when I saw it, I was like, thrown back.”
The state of their friendship is still unclear. However, Jenner did say something that hints at the possibility that they've been speaking — and might even be on amicable terms: “Jordyn knows I didn’t actually put it on sale.”
UPDATE (2/22/2019): It's been only a day since Kylie Cosmetics fans noticed that the Jordy Lip Kit was marked down 50 percent seemingly in an unspoken response to Jordyn Woods allegedly hooking up with Khloé Kardashian's boyfriend, Tristan Thomspon. (Though some fans swear it had already been marked down before the rumors started.) But Woods is letting everyone know that the beauty show must go on, proving that even if the Lip Kit your (former?) best friend named after you is on the outs, you've still got to stick to your other cosmetic-collab commitments.
Woods made her first public appearance at an event for her new Eylure x Jordyn Woods collaboration and there she also made her first public statement addressing the scandal. Entertainment Tonight reports that Woods told the audience, "Thank you guys for coming out and supporting me through everything that’s going on. It’s been real." And ever the professional, Woods switched the topic to false lashes: "And Eylure has been super real with a project I’ve been working on for over nine months right now.”
It's understandable that Woods wouldn't back out of a business engagement like this, considering her relationships with other brands — the Kardashian and Jenner brands — seem to be on thin or altogether broken ice. In addition to the Lip Kit shenanigans, BuzzFeed reports that Khloé has removed Woods from her Good American website and #GoodSquad of jeans models.

Ever since all-but-confirmed rumors started very publicly swirling that Khloé Kardashian split from Tristan Thompson because he allegedly cheated on her with her half-sister Kylie Jenner's best friend, Jordyn Woods, the fallout has been swift, shocking, and...profitable? While no one in the family has directly spoken about the drama, Jenner sent quite a message on the Kylie Cosmetics website today by deeply discounting the Jordy Velvet Liquid Lipstick Lip Kit named for her possibly former BFF.
On Thursday, shoppers noticed that the "raspberry red" Velvet Liquid Lipstick and matching Lip Liner had been marked down from $27 to $13.50 — 50 percent off — and it's hard to believe that's a coincidence. And those shoppers didn't hesitate to take advantage of the "best value," as a little blue sticker on the product photos called it. Shortly after it went on sale, it sold out. The product page also recommends completing the look with lipsticks called Trouble Maker and Brat, but that might be a coincidence.
Other than throwing commercial shade, Jenner is reportedly undecided about her friendship with Woods. "Kylie was always so excited to have Jordyn around. It seems Kylie isn’t sure what to do, but it seems impossible for her to keep Jordyn around,” a source told People. "Jordyn has been like Kylie’s sister." But considering Woods allegedly betrayed Jenner's actual sister, it may mean the end of the friendship — and with it, their current living arrangement.
People also reports that Woods has moved out of Jenner's mansion and back in with her mother. “It’s been a difficult time and she’s broken up about it. She’s heading home to be with her mom,” a source says.
Other than the Jordy Velvet Liquid Lipstick Lip Kit (which started showing as $27 again after selling out), the other Kylie Cosmetics products associated with Woods seem to have their usual prices. The Jordyn Palette from the Kylie x Jordyn collection is still available for $45, and the Woods shade of matte lipstick is still $17. However, a pink sticker reading "Trending Product: Get It Before It's Gone" is showing up on a number of Woods-inspired product images, so shoppers clearly think this family-and-friend crisis means there will be a run on products linked to the 21-year-old.
