All the yes: there’s now an e-commerce beauty site made for women of color

While great strides have been made for women of color in the beauty industry, it’s still hard to find matching foundations and skincare designed to meet our specific concerns. It’s very much still a “thing.”

We applaud brands like Kat Von D, who expanded its foundation range and Anastasia Beverly Hills whose stick foundations are available in an impressive collection of hues. Black-owned brands like Koyvoca are serving up beauty in all shades of brown, and newcomer skincare brand Nyakio is addressing skin concerns that are prevalent among WOC, such as hyperpigmentation and acne scars.

Snaps all around for every brand that’s making waves, but there’s still sooo much ground to cover. Thankfully, e-commerce site Marjani Beauty Company is a step in the right direction. Offering hair, makeup, and skincare for WOC, Marjai Beauty Company is a one-stop shop for all things melanin-friendly.

Among the brands offered on the site are one of our faves, Reina Rebelde, along with Melanie Mills Hollywood, Afrodeity, and AJ Crimson, a cosmetic brand that’s getting an incredible amount of buzz.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, on March 31st, Marjani Beauty Company is launching their Buy It and Try It foundation program. When you buy a foundation, it comes with a matching sample to try. Not into it? Just return the unopened full size foundation to get your money back. Brilliant.
