A fully-equipped outdoor kitchen may sound like something out of a dream home, but the truth is, that dream doesn't have to be too far from reality. While there are plenty of gorgeous homes with sprawling outdoor setups (like, bigger than my one-bedroom apartment sprawling), you don't need much space to create a tricked-out al fresco cooking setup. The proof? This outdoor kitchen at our Whole Home concept house in Nashville.

Designer Barclay Butera was tasked with decorating the home's patio and, since the footprint was relatively small, he dedicated most of it to living space, selecting a sofa and lounge chairs and arranging them around an outdoor fireplace. That left just one wall—and approximately 15 square feet of space—to designate as the "kitchen."

Well, as anyone who has ever lived in a small apartment can tell you, you can pack a lot into one wall. The same is true outside. Using a clever setup of Lynx appliances, Butera essentially Tetris-ed his way to a kitchen tricked out with a pizza oven, grill, refrigerator, and counter space all in a tiny footprint—which is to say, a whole lot more than most regular indoor kitchens can manage!

The best part? There's no pacing across the room to the fridge when you need something; it's all literally within an arm's reach. Now this is the kind of "tiny house" living I can get behind!
