Yes, This is the Best Juicer We’ve Ever Used, Hands Down

I'll preface this review by confessing that I've been using a now-discontinued Juiceman Jr. centrifugal juicer for a decade, the product you get from your great aunt at your wedding who knows you've been trying to eat healthy, but doesn't do the research. Juicing 101. Juicing for Beginners. Does the Juiceman juice? It does okay, but gets blocked up. Is it loud? Yes. Is it easy to clean? No, it's so hard to clean that it deters us from using the appliance. When HUROM offered to let me test drive their H400 model, promising that I'd like it and it would be easy to clean, I welcomed the challenge, hoping it would turn me back into an eager, everyday user.

HUROM H400 Slow Juicer

HUROM

Unlike centrifugal juicers on the market, the HUROM focuses its efforts on producing high-quality masticating juicers, also known as slow or cold-press juicers. Some of the many advantages of masticating juicers include:

  • High-quality juice. Better quality extraction leads to better flavors and more health benefits.

  • Ease of use and maintenance. Masticating juicers have fewer parts!

  • Makes very little noise

  • Energy-efficient

I can tell you already that the H400 will remain a staple appliance on our countertop.

9 Things We Liked About HUROM's H400

  1. Ease of cleaning. The H400 Slow Juicer is equipped with an Easy Clean chamber set, which includes a two-part auger. The individual parts all detach from each other making them easy to wash, dry, and reassemble. A cleaning brush arrives with the product, but I find it hardly necessary.

  2. No strainer! This goes hand-in-hand with the scrub-free bit. Traditional juicers require a strainer which collects minerals over time, requiring extensive scrubbing. The H400 utilizes a revolutionary mechanism that minimizes pulp. The strainer-like function is practically embedded within the chamber and the two-part auger meshes together to strain out pulp-free juice.

  3. It can accommodate a lot of food. It has the largest volume of any self-feeding HUROM hopper yet, reducing the need to finely chop and prep ingredients.

  4. Operates slowly (and quietly!). This isn't your ordinary centrifugal juicer. The tool rotates at a speed of just 43 revolutions per minute to mimic the motion of a hand squeezing juice, ensuring it stays fresh and retains all its natural nutrients. You might think this means that it takes longer to get a cup of juice, but you're wrong. Minutes.

  5. Handles both fibrous and tough ingredients. If it has juice, it'll juice. Some reviews cited that celery left too much pulp, but I didn't have that experience, perhaps because of the ingredient combination I used.

  6. Bone-dry discards. It deposits every last drop of juice possible from both fruits and veggies, leaving behind only the discarded, dry pulp. Now that's a high juice yield.

  7. Makes homemade oat milk, nut milk, ice cream, soup! muffins! and more. It arrives with a great recipe book. Additional recipes and inspiration are available on the website.

  8. Doesn't take up a lot of counterspace. The H400 is narrow vertical juicer, and it fits between the countertop and upper cabinets with room to spare.

  9. Great warranty. The motor is covered by a 10-year warranty. The remaining parts are covered by a 2-year warranty.
