If you just watched Love in the Villa and are wondering if you, too, can find love in a villa, the answer is yes! Because while Netflix’s latest rom-com doesn’t exactly scream “we spent a ton of money on this movie,” it went alllll out with the locations in Verona, Italy. Can’t get more romantic than the IRL setting of Romeo and Juliet, ya know?
So which locations can you visit next time you go through a breakup and decide to Eat, Pray, Love it through Italy in the hopes of finding a shirtless wine connoisseur who wants to live out a flirty enemies-to-lovers trope with you? Good question. Presenting: all the real filming locations from Love in the Villa—including that famous balcony.
Yes, That Balcony Is Real
It might be so perfect that it looks like a set, but Verona Casa di Giulietta is a real spot in Verona, where you can live out your very own Romeo and Juliet cosplay. The locals will definitely love it and not at all side-eye you, it’s fine!
And that statue of Juliet? Also real—and yes, rubbing her breast is said to bring good luck.
Anyway, the 14th-century palace (previously known as Capuleti House) was actually purchased by the city of Verona and is now known as Juliet’s House. In other words, they are really leaning into the whole balcony thing.
By the way, filming in these glorious locations definitely helped Tom Hopper and Kat Graham get in character. As Tom put it to The List, “A lot [of the scenes] are location-based because it was incredible to be there. There’s that one [where] we were walking across the bridge, which was beautiful.”
You Can Visit That Romantic Lake
While Love in the Villa filmed around various restaurants, streets, and piazzas throughout Verona, Julie and Charlie’s idyllic picnic scene appears to take place on Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy. I mean, who wouldn’t fall in love there?

The Awkward Dinner Scene, You Ask?
Per Decider, that took place at Yard Restaurant, and Tom said it was the scene he’ll remember best from his time filming, telling The List, “The most memorable scene was the four of us at the restaurant having the big 10-page dinner scene.”
Kat Graham also noted that Love in the Villa is “as magical as it seems” in large part because of the location, saying, “Everything that you guys feel while watching it—it’s not fake. It’s something that is such a real experience.” Tom added, “People should go and visit Verona and feel it for themselves. They really should. Like Kat says, that’s absolutely true. All those feelings—it’s all there.”
