As one of the world's most iconic sporting events with so much pomp and circumstance, it stands as a tradition that many don't want to miss. What's dubbed as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports" will take place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, May 7.

When is the 2022 Kentucky Derby?

Per tradition, the Kentucky Derby takes place on the first Saturday in May so this year the race will occur on May 7. While the event begins earlier in the afternoon, the race post time is 6:57 PM EST so spectators can expect to know this year's winner by 7 PM.

How to watch and stream the 2022 Kentucky Derby

Fans will be able to catch the 2022 Kentucky Derby by tuning into NBC. Their Derby Day coverage will begin at noon, including race-day analytics and real time coverage to prepare to watch the big race. The official Running of the Kentucky Derby begins at 6:57 PM ET.
