'Yellowstone' Star Hints at Show's Future: 'There May Be More Things to Come'

Piper Perabo, who plays environmental activist Summer Higgins on Yellowstone spoke recently about the future of the Duttons after Yellowstone ends. The show is set to end with the current season 5. While the first half has already aired, the back half of season 5 has yet to go into production.

“If it were up to me, I would want it to keep going, but I know that Taylor [Sheridan] is writing the prequels and he has all these things that he’s doing and he wants to expand the whole thing," Perabo told Entertainment Tonight. "Even though Yellowstone might be ending, there may be so many more things to come."

A hit show for Paramount Network, Yellowstone has spawned several spinoffs and prequels including 1883 starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and 1923 with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Upcoming spinoffs include 6666 and a yet-to-be-titled series starring Matthew McConaughey.

The series current season 5 will be its last. The final episodes of Yellowstone are scheduled to debut in November but production may be delayed with the ongoing writers' strike. "I hope [the writers' strike] doesn't have an impact," said Perabo. "I stand with the writers in solidarity and I'm really glad that they are fighting for fair wages and transparency and I hope that we can end this strike soon. I know Taylor Sheridan was writing before the strike was happening and one of the fun things about working on a Sheridan show is that you really don't know what’s gonna happen."
