'Yellowstone' Star Cole Hauser Brewing Up Side Hustle Rip Would Love

The current writers and actors strikes going on in Hollywood have prompted the stars of many of your favorite shows to lean into their side hustles. Some are looking to drastic actions like selling homes (we see you Billy Porter) while others are taking more creative avenues to rustle up cash. Cole Hauser, who plays Dutton Ranch foreman and "fixer" Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone, is launching a coffee company called.
Free Rein Coffee, a partnership between Hauser and his longtime friends Paul Anderson, Aron Marquez and Karl Pfluger, seems to fit perfectly with the Yellowstone aesthetic. According to a release, the brand "embodies the hardworking spirit and open promise of the American West, the essence of open horizons, untamed landscapes, and the bold determination of pioneers who charge hard, wherever they may lead them."
How does it taste? Well..."The flavors kick and bite, but always go down smooth. Each cup serves to fuel whatever dream you’re chasing, be it gold and glory, or just a little slice of the world to call your own.”

The group purchased Longhorn Coffee Co., a small batch coffee roaster based out of Texas back in 2022 and appear to have rebranded for a new product launch later this fall.
The company made their first Instagram posts this week with photos of Hauser, cowboys and branded merch—right on brand for Rip Wheeler.

"I've grown up around cowboys my whole life," the brand said in a post, presumably speaking on behalf of Hauser. "And I can tell you, there's nobody on earth who works harder. I'm proud to announce that I've decided to start a coffee company inspired by these men and women who wake up before the dawn. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard. Free Rein is for anyone who gets up and works like a cowboy, gets up and chases a dream, or gets up and just feels like having a damn good cup of coffee. So get up and get after it. Dreams don’t work unless you do."
Free Rein Coffee Company is set to launch in the fall and will include not only a variety of coffees in ground and whole bean varieties, but also Free Rein merch like insulated mugs, T-shirts and coffee mugs.
Hauser has played Rip Wheeler on Paramount Network's Yellowstone since the series premiered in 2018. The show is in its fifth and final season though the back half of season 5 has yet to head into production. He has previously appeared on Rogue, ER and The Lizzie Borden Chronicles.
