While Yellowstone fans still have to wait until November for the second volume of its fifth and final season to begin streaming on Paramount+, newcomers to the series who have been catching up on the Western drama on CBS can look forward to the Season 3 premiere tonight.

CBS first began airing Yellowstone from the very beginning on September 17, as a means of filling its empty programming slots during the now-resolved SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The arrival of the Taylor Sheridan-created drama on the broadcast network on Sunday nights helped to bring the show a whole new legion of fans who hadn't already been following the volatile fortunes of the Dutton family over on Paramount+.

Seasons 1 and 2 both aired in late 2023—albeit with the roughest of the violence and language edited out—followed by a short break. Season 3 kicks off tonight—Sunday, January 14—with the first three episodes, and will continue to air the season in three-episode batches on subsequent Sunday nights.
