A 'Yellowstone' Fan Did Some Digging to Find the Season 4 Premiere Date and It's Not Good
  • Season 3 of Yellowstone concluded on August 23, 2020, and Paramount Network confirmed a fourth season was in the works.

  • The first three seasons premiered in June, which lead to widespread speculation that season 4 would follow suit and begin on June 20, 2021.

  • However, a Reddit thread suggests that the date will be later in the summer.

Yellowstone ended its third season with a bang, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news of the season 4 premiere. Speculation began circulating online that the show would be back on June 20, 2021, just in time for Father's Day. It's a reasonable assumption: The first three seasons aired on June 20, 2018, June 19, 2019, and June 21, 2020.

Chief Joseph Ranch, where the show is filmed, announced a June release date back in November 2020. But at this time, Paramount Network has not confirmed a premiere date, nor has it released a trailer for the new season, causing fans to question the June 20 information.

A user on Reddit did some sleuthing and discovered that there is no mention of Yellowstone on the Paramount Network schedule for June 19-21. The eagle-eyed fan writes, "I just scrolled through PN schedule and no Yellowstone listed for Father's Day. I checked from 6/19 at 12:30 a.m. through 6/21 at 5:30 a.m. and nothing for the Big Y. I guess Father's Day will just be another day...sorry, dad. Oops, dad is crying 'cuz he wanted to see Yellowstone on his special day, too. You big meanies!"

Other fans jumped in to express their disappointment. One chimed in with, "Yes. why are you ruining my Father’s Day gift?”

Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic could be the reason for the delay, but one user speculated that it could be also be because of the Olympics (although we couldn't find any news on this). "I read earlier that it was pushed back due to the Olympics. It will start sometime in August. I don’t think they want to have to compete with popular Olympic events."

Another says, "Weird thought: when my alarm went off today the very first thought I had was 'July 4th is a Sunday. Maybe they could air it then. It would be great—pig out, watch some fireworks, drink a bit, then get all amped up on Yellowstone.'"

For now, we'll just have to keep watching those reruns until we get more news on season 4.
