Luke Grimes' life didn't change all that much when the first season of Yellowstone initially aired. Season one and two were popular, of course, but the sleeper hit really blew up during the pandemic. Now, the trailer for season five alone racked in over 14 million views. 🤯 This type of sudden success could make anyone's head spin.

During a new interview with CBS Mornings, Grimes and his on-screen wife, actress Kelsey Asbille, weighed in on what that change has been like.

"I don't think we have processed it," said Asbille.

The actors, who play Yellowstone characters Casey Dutton and Monica Long-Dutton, addressed some burning questions about their Romeo and Juliet romance, the pair's heavy final moments during season 4, and whether Grimes watches the show.

**Spoiler alert: He doesn't, but the reason might just surprise you!

CBS's Tony Dokoupil set up the question by noting there are two kinds of people in Hollywood: those who like to watch their own stuff and those who, for whatever reason, don't. "You're of the 'I don't watch myself variety.' Is that true, and why?" Dokoupil asked.

You might expect the actor to give an airy answer, like 'he gets embarrassed' or 'he's too good for it,' but his response was actually really sweet. Grimes rubbed his chin and seemed to genuinely think through the question.

"It's less about not watching myself," Grimes explained, "I really want to enjoy this whole series one day when I'm not doing it anymore."

His response surprised the CBS Mornings hosts, so Grimes continued. "I feel like if I watch it now, I'll get in my head. I'm going to be judging what I'm doing. I feel like once I'm totally done with it and can put that away, I'll be able to sit down and really enjoy the story."

Chances are, he'll love it as much as we do!

When asked if the show's success has changed anything about the job, Asbille and Grimes exchanged dubious glances. "I guess it just changes the airport experience on the way there," Grimes joked.

While getting through the airport may be a bit harder, it's Yellowstone's die-hard fanbase that made the neo-Western series the No. 1 show on television in 2021-2022 (excluding football), according to Variety.

Asbille was quick to attribute the show's tremendous success to creator Taylor Sheridan's resonant storytelling. "I think what Taylor Sheridan does so beautifully is he puts two groups of people in conversation with each other," said Asbille.

If you haven't planned your Yellowstone watch party yet, it's time to get moving. The last anyone saw of these two characters was when Casey told Monica, "I see the end of us." We'll be tuning in on November 13 to see where their marriage can go after that heartbreaking conversation.
