Over in Hollywood, the New Year’s Eve vibes were definitely different than at the start of 2023.

The past 12 months have been an…interesting time for celebrities. They fought and they reconciled. They fell in love and fell apart. Many of them even went on strike! Just like so many of us, Hollywood A-listers were counting down the days to New Year’s Eve, eager to leave the past year in their rearview mirror.

Perhaps that’s one reason so many celebs known for heavy social media activity stayed off the ’gram this NYE. Who knows, maybe the Kardashian-Jenner family resolved to be more present in the moment? Of course, there were still plenty of Instagram Stories from other celebs with videos of fireworks and party dresses.

From Jennifer Lopez to Dua Lipa, here’s how some of your favorite celebrities ushered in 2024 on New Year’s Eve.

Taylor Swift

Swift spent New Year’s Eve watching boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium. The 34-year-old pop star sent a clear message to viewers by wearing a letterman jacket that matches the one Kelce wore to his Christmas Day game on December 25.

Later in the evening the pair were allegedly spotted sharing a midnight kiss, according to a fan-recorded video making the rounds on social media. In the clip Swift appears to be dressed in a glimmering silver minidress and Midnights-inspired hair decoration. How apropros! We wouldn’t be surprised if this was her best New Year’s Eve since 2011.

Celebrity Style

This looks seems to send a clear message to haters.

Blake Lively

Meanwhile, Swift’s close friend Blake Lively called it an early night, nearly ready for bed with her teeth brushed at 11:58 pm. On Instagram Stories, Lively shared a pic of her final look of 2023: an inside-out pink sweater and martini earrings, adding a pop of sparkle with Pat McGrath glitter eye shadow and a “smeared” fuchsia lip.

Dua Lipa

Lipa, who helped usher in the exposed-thong trend last NYE, spent the end of 2023 in India.

This year she wore a long black halter gown with a cutout showing a sliver of skin from her clavicle to her navel, though she ended her night in a bathrobe after enjoying five negronis.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

JLo enjoyed a fireworks show in her husband’s arms.

Cardi B

Cardi B shared that she was feeling sick ahead of her big performance in Miami as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. Of course, she still showed out.

Janelle Monáe

Monáe led viewers of NYRE in a toast during her performance.

Megan Thee Stallion

Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without an incredible performance from Megan Thee Stallion.

Sabrina Carpenter and Renée Rapp

NYRE really featured some incredible talent this year, including Sabrina Carpenter and Renée Rapp.

Sofía Vergara

Last year Sofía Vergara rang in 2023 on vacation with then husband Joe Manganiello. This year the divorcée spent the holiday with friends and family in a strapless black corseted bustier!

Kourtney Kardashian

After cheering on husband Travis Barker as he ran a marathon in Santa Monica, Kourtney was the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner crew who shared real-time NYE content—and even then, she only shared a couple of videos on Instagram Stories of some very lovely dinner table settings.
