When this limited edition candle and perfume showed up at the Yahoo Beauty office, there was an audible gasp from our editors. “It’s soooo cute!” we all yelled in unison before we began fighting over who got to keep it on their desk. The candle — and its scented pals — are part of a collaboration between Franco-British fashion designer Olympia Le-Tan (you know her for her famous book clutch bag and feminine collection of ready-to-wear) and storied French fragrance house Diptyque Paris, whose candles and fragrances have a serious cult following thanks to the magnificent scents and the pretty packaging. (Try finding a beauty editor who doesn’t store her makeup brushes in an empty Diptyque jar.)
For this collaboration, the classic Diptyque jar is transformed with cut out fabric lips and an embroidered label, done by Le-Tan. The scent is also brand new. Rosaviola is all things roses, violets, sweet candies, and even a hint of the smell of a fresh tube of lipstick (you totally know what I’m talking about, right?). It’s the ultimate girly-girl scent and it’s arrived just in time for Valentine’s Day. While it makes a good gift, with this one we say treat yo’self.
