Yahoo Style Exclusive! This New Madewell Collab Is the Vacation Wardrobe of Your Dreams

If we can’t keep our minds on our work today, blame it on Madewell. Today, the brand announces its newest collaboration with Austin-based boutique JM Drygoods, and the resulting bright, breezy minicollection could not be more reminiscent of a sunny summer day in Mexico if it came with a mango paleta.

The limited-edition, 10-piece collection consists of easy minidresses, pretty peasant tops, boldly embroidered army jackets and cutoff jeans, woven tote bags, and a fringed white poncho that’ll either be your go-to beach cover-up or your new favorite thing to wear with white jeans this summer.

Madewell x JM Drygoods fêted their new collaboration yesterday with tacos and margaritas at Brooklyn’s Gran Eléctrica. There, we spoke with Madewell head designer Joyce Lee and JM Drygoods owner Michelle Teague about the new collection, why the poncho is overdue for a comeback, and their love of Mexico, the country that inspired it all.

Click ahead for the first glimpse at the lookbook and 12 things you need to know about the collection — including how New Yorkers can shop it days ahead of its worldwide release.

Madewell x JM Drygoods is available to shop June 7 at Madewell.com/jmdrygoods.
