Launched by the budget supermarket brand as part of its Christmas offering, the six-litre Giotti Prosecco DOC Methuselah will ensure everyone’s glass is topped up.

Comically large (not to mention ridiculously heavy), it contains the equivalent of eight 75cl bottles and fills a whopping 48 glasses.

Plus, because of its novelty size it will make an ideal centre piece at any festive gathering. We can almost see the Instagram likes racking up...

The 2018 version sold out in just 24 hours last year but, this year’s is still available to shop. Hoorah.

Reviews are positive. Here in the Yahoo UK office, it was declared “delicious” and “beautifully light” with “a hint of fruit” to its overall taste.

The cork pops with a satisfying bang and the overall impact is definitely impressive.

But, it did take two of us to lift it and pour it. So, if you splurge, ensure you have a family member or friend who can help you fill glasses.

The reviews on Aldi are equally approving.

“I bought this recently and it’s amazing. I bought the smaller bottle last year but had to buy more. This is perfect!” wrote one happy customer in his review.

It’s such a hit in another customer’s home that he has to keep it away from his step-mother, who has threatened to drink it before Christmas.

Another made a valid point: because of its size, you’ll likely struggle to fit it in your fridge. Pray it’s cold enough outside to chill it before drinking, the customer commented.

Another option? Fill the bath with ice and leave it in there for a few hours.
