The 'X-Men '97' Voice Cast Is Full of Familiar Names
IF YOU'RE FEELING fatigued from Marvel's live-action projects, the animation side of the business is still going strong. What If...? is going into its third season, and still provides thrills from its quick 30-minute episodes all about the multiverse and what it takes to keep it stable. And soon, even more animated shows will be added to Marvel's catalogue, including an upcoming Eyes of Wakanda show, delving into some of the fictional African nation's backstory and mythology, plus Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, a new adaptation of the teen web-slinger. But first, Marvel is kicking off 2024 with a good dose of nostalgia in X-Men '97.
A sequel series to X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men '97 is the first X-Men project Marvel's released since receiving the film and television rights back from 20th Century Fox. The show is unrelated to the MCU and even if you haven't watched the original '90s show, it's easy to dive right in.
Trying to match the love viewers had for the original series is a hard goal to meet, though. Thankfully, X-Men '97 knows what fans want. The show's retained the same visual style of decades past, and even has the music of the original. If you weren't watching on your phone, computer, or fancy flat screen TV, you'd think it was still the '90s.
