Earpers, rejoice! There is a Wynonna Earp special coming your way! Fans were anticipating a Season 5 of the popular show that aired on SYFY in the U.S., but funding for the next season didn't materialize and Season 4 ended up being its last.

Three years later, the cast is gearing up for a 90-minute movie tentatively titled Wynonna Earp: Vengeance. The movie, penned by creator Emily Andras, will likely include most of the original cast. Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dom Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp) and Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) are on board with Paolo Barzman returning to direct.

"Doc and Wynonna have been on an adventure, and Waverly and Nicole have been at home in [the Earp hometown of] Purgatory, doing their thing. I think it's going to be really interesting to see, hopefully, what gets everybody home-maybe facing a challenge they've never faced before, something pretty intense. It's all your favorite - hopefully - character moments, but also a little bit about growing up and sort of, like, being who you are now and earning all your choices," said Andras.

Here's everything we know so far about Wynonna Earp: Vengeance.

What's Wynonna Earp about?

Wynonna Earp is a supernatural-horror Western that aired on SyFy in the U.S. It's based on a comic book series of the same name created by Beau Smith. Emily Andras developed the series for television and served as showrunner and executive producer.

It follows the great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp. In the paranormal-drama, Wynonna battles demons and hellish creatures in the small town of Purgatory with Wyatt Earp's demon-killing gun named Peacemaker. She is charged with taking down Revenants—outlaws killed by Wyatt Earp that have been resurrected because of the Earp Curse.

Fun fact: The name of every episode is a song title.

What is the Earp Curse?

Within the series lore, Wyatt Earp was cursed by a demon named Bulshar Clootie after Earp killed his two sons. The curse resurrects everyone that Wyatt Earp killed. They are known as revenants. The eldest in the Earp line becomes The Heir when they turn 27 and is the only one who can kill revenants with Earp's gun, The Peacemaker. When the current Heir dies, the revenants are resurrected again for the next successor.
