WSJ: FBI to search Mike Pence's home in Carmel, Indiana

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that the FBI plans to search the home of Mike Pence, the former vice president Indiana governor.

In the wake of classified documents found on President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump's properties, Pence's lawyer recently disclosed that classified documents were found at his home.

The Wall Street Journal reported that officials could search Pence's home "in the coming days," and that the Justice Department is working with his legal team to schedule the visit. According to letters from Pence's lawyer obtained by USA TODAY, FBI agents went to Pence's home on Jan. 19 to retrieve documents from a safe.

Pence had previously said to multiple news sources that he didn't possess any classified documents. When asked by the Associated Press in August if he had taken any home, he said, "No, not to my knowledge." He gave a similar response in November to ABC News, saying "there’d be no reason to have classified documents."

Pence, originally from Columbus, lives in a five-bedroom mansion in Hamilton County.
