Outer Banks, an action-adventure teen drama from Netflix, was renewed for a fourth season days before the release of Season 3. The cast surprised fans at Poguelandia, an Outer Banks experience, by announcing the show's renewal.

In a joint statement, series co-creators, showrunners and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke said, "The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime, and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season four of Outer Banks. Thank you to Netflix, our cast, and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen."

Not yet. Madison Bailey, who plays Kiara, revealed to People in April 2023 that the cast will be returning to Charleston in the summer. "It is happening fast," Bailey said. "Back in Charleston, we'll be back there this summer."

Will the writers strike affect Season 4 of Outer Banks?

It's hard to say since we don't know how long the strike will last. If production already had completed scripts for Season 4 at the start of the strike on May 2, which is more than likely, then all systems would be a go for next installment regardless. In general, streaming shows operate farther in advance than network shows.
