The Worst 2022 Emmy Award Snubs: From Britt Lower to Tracee Ellis Ross

Earlier today, the Television Academy debuted the 2022 Emmy Award nominations, and we couldn’t help but notice that several noteworthy shows and performances were left off the list. From Britt Lower to Tracee Ellis Ross, keep reading for this year’s worst Emmy snubs.

1. The Flight Attendant

Back in April, the HBO Max series debuted its second season. Many expected The Flight Attendant to receive an Emmy nomination for Best Comedy Series, but that didn’t happen. On the bright side, Kaley Cuoco (who plays Cassie) was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

2. Jenifer Lewis

If there was one memorable supporting cast member in I Love that for You, it was Jenifer Lewis (who played Patricia). Despite her standout performance, Lewis didn’t receive an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Womp, womp.

3. Britt Lower

Severance star Adam Scott might have received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, but the same can’t be said for Britt Lower. Helly fans were clearly hoping she’d receive a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

4. Viola Davis

Viola Davis wowed viewers with her uncanny portrayal of Michelle Obama in The First Lady. Unfortunately, she—along with Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson—wasn’t recognized by the Television Academy.

5. Selena Gomez

You probably recognize Selena Gomez from Only Murders in the Building, where she plays Mabel. Two of her co-stars—Steve Martin and Martin Short—received nods, along with the show itself (which is nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series). Unfortunately, Gomez’s performance didn’t make the cut.

6. Tracee Ellis Ross

Earlier this year, Black-ish aired its eighth—and final—season. Although Tracee Ellis Ross was nominated last year, she wasn’t included on the 2022 list.

7. Amy Schumer

If you thought Amy Schumer’s new Hulu series, Life & Beth, would land her a nomination, think again. The actress and the show itself were both snubbed from this year’s ceremony.

8. And Just Like That…

And just like that…the Sex and the City reboot didn’t receive a single Emmy nomination. #Ouch
