The Workout Gregg Sulkin Used to Get Shredded for 'Pretty Smart'

Actor Gregg Sulkin faced a fairly significant challenge to prep for his role as Grant in Pretty Smart, the new Netflix original series. He didn't just need to get fit—he had to convincingly pull off the physique of a dedicated, often shirtless personal trainer.
Sulkin prepped for the demanding role with his own trainer, Kev Kevorkian. The Men's Health crew caught up with the pair to check out the one of the typical workouts the actor used to get in faux trainer shape. "I had to get massively in shape for the show, so this place here became my home," Sulkin said of the gym where they trained. "I think the plan for the show was that I never wanted to become like a bodybuilder-type," he continued. "I wanted to become lean, but also to add muscle."
To accomplish that goal, Sulkin took on full-body workouts, which featured cardio warmups in addition to strength training and plenty of core work.
Want to try this yourself? Sulkin's workout uses lots of gear, so you'll probably need to have access to a well-appointed gym. Just make sure that you're using loads and performing the exercises within your own level of training. Don't hesitate to scale or skip a movement if need be.
