  • Workin' Moms season 5 is now available on Netflix.

  • All 10 episodes were released at the same time.

  • Creator Catherine Reitman has broken news about the possibility of a sixth season.

Workin' Moms fans have had to wait a long time for season 5.

The fourth season premiered on more than a year ago, in spring of 2020. It was a boon to all parents stuck at home with kids during quarantine. The show was a much-needed dose of comedy in a very dark time.

But afterward? Nothing.

Nothing, that is, if you live in the United States. The show is Canadian, so if you're lucky enough to live in Canada, you've already been able to see it. It aired on the CBC starting in February, just like it did in 2020. There was no horrendous break. But fans who had been watching the show on Netflix were left in the lurch, waiting for news about when it might possibly return. There aren't that many episodes in a season, either, so even if they weren't binged — which requires great restraint — they go pretty quickly. A season isn't enough!

Fans don't need to worry anymore. Now, finally, Workin' Moms season 5 is finally available to watch in the United States.

How to Watch Workin' Moms Season 5 in the United States

Like the rest of the seasons, Workin' Moms season 5 is available on Netflix. The new episodes dropped on June 15. All 10 episodes of the (too short!) season are available to watch at once, so you don't have to wait for week-to-week releases the way some other streaming services have started doing.

What Is Season 5 About?

The real meat of the season focuses on the relationship between Kate and Anne, mirroring the shift in relationships many moms feel after they have kids. "For me personally, my friendships have taken such a back seat to my job and to my family, and to my responsibilities," creator Catherine Reitman tells TV, Eh? in an interview. "To see Kate and Anne separated — this love story that we’ve been rooting for — to see them pulled away is probably a little too real for a lot of people and I don’t think I even realized that until it aired. And so challenging that is, of course, one of the big obstacles of the season. And then we sort of turn it on its head mid-season in a way that I don’t think anyone’s going to see coming."

What it's not about? Coronavirus. Reitman made the decision to set the show in a future where COVID-19 is gone, and the world is reopening. "We weighed our responsibilities because some would argue that it's our responsibility as artists to show and represent what's happening, and Workin' Moms has been such a mirror of real-life mom experiences," Reitman tells the CBC. "Do you want to see everyone in masks? Do you want to see everyone sanitizing and six feet apart? Not me. … I want to see people doing what they used to do."

Will There Be a Workin' Moms Season 6?

There's one benefit to being perpetually behind Canada in the Workin' Moms cycle: You never have to wait so long for news about renewals and cancellations.

Retiman confirmed on her Instagram that there will be a sixth season. The writers room is working on Zoom. But when it'll stream is anybody's guess.
