It wouldn't be Elite without mystery, romance and murder. Between the third and fourth season, the show also had short stories on various relationships including Nadia and Guzmán, and Carla and Samuel. The newest season focuses on the character Ari and a major question: Who pushed her into the lake?

In season 4's premiere episode, "The New Order," Las Encinas newcomer Ari emerges from a lake, injured but alive. Over the course of the season, the mystery around her attack comes to light. Plus, viewers see her deal with both Samu and Guzmán as they vie for her affection.

The finale brings Ari's story to a close, but in a twist that few may have anticipated. Prince Phillipe hosts a New Year's Eve bash, bringing all the characters, and all of their drama, into one place. There, Guzmán and Samuel confront Ari about her stringing both of them along. The boys fight and Samuel's phone falls to the ground. A text from Ari reveals he's the one she actually wants to be with.

Throughout the season, a rich man named Armando groomed Ari's younger sister Mencía, similar to the gut-wrenching plot of Hulu's Cruel Summer. Leaving Guzmán and Samuel, a drunk Ari heads to the dock and confronts Armando, threatening to tell her father about the relationship. Armando attacks Ari and leaves her there, injured.

A heartbroken Guzmán looks to talk to Ari, but finds her there, barely conscious. She tells him about Armando, and asks Guzmán to go after him. He manages to chase Armando to a boat house. Finding a flare gun, Guzmán shoots Armando and kills him instantly.

Alone, drunk and bloodied, Ari attempts to answer a phone call from her father and passes out. Then, she falls into the lake. Guzmán, Rebe and Samuel report her missing, then weigh down Armando's body and drop him into the lake.

To take away any suspicion of his involvement, Guzmán decides to go backpacking with Añder Munoz, leaving Madrid (and possibly the show).

What could happen next in Elite?

The next season could see a police investigation into Armando's disappearance, since he was such an influential person. His body could also wash to shore, putting suspicion on anyone who attended the New Year's Eve party. Season 5 has already been ordered, so viewers shouldn't have to wait too long to see how Elite's newest murder plays out.
